Mega Bloks Halo -- Assault on Squad 45: Episodes 1 - 4

Knock Off Iron Men!!!

I finally have the chance to own these little buggers... lol

I was a member of an Knockoff Legos Enthusiasts. Not that i don't like lego(i actually own sets), but knowing the facts that these alt. brands are much cheaper, qualities are sometimes off but they're improving on every sets they release, plastics are getting better compared to the earliers sets being released 2 years ago. Lately, some brands releases Knockoff iron man, i've seen people from the forum posting both versions from SZ and Decool. I'm not sure which one is better but base on their reviews, SZ got a much better prints on it's mini-figures.

Well, i got the Decool versions, i bought 2 packs of 6.

I like the idea that they made a few variations of the armors comparing to the few iron men release by lego, we got the Midas Armor(the Gold one), the Silve Centurion, Mark II and V, The Gemini Armor etc. The paint apps and the print on the figure ain't not that good, but they're still cute.. lol.

Mega Bloks Halo Pelican Gunship Set 97129

I saw the Mega Bloks Halo Pelican Gunship Set 97129 on the shelves of Toy Kingdom at Megamall last Saturday, At first i was so hesitant to buy the set for two reasons: One, the ship was too large it won't fit in my display cabinet, and two it costs Php 7,499.75, I was also thinking what made this different from the first pelican and realizes that this one is a gunship and the first pelican is a dropship. Then the kid in me decides to pick it-up, i already skipped on earlier sets which in time made me realize i need most of them for my collection, resulting me buying online which cost more because of the shipping.

The set has 1161 pieces which took me approximately 9 hours to build the pelican. The only mistake i had was putting the pieces of bricks on the floor and not sorting each of them which took me more time looking for each pieces, well... it's a lesson learned.

 

The Pelican features in-game light and sounds. and has a button on the side to activate the electronics.

The button is almost unrecognizable, almost hidden, my 6 years old daughter asked how to turn on the electronics and told her "It's motion activated you can tap anywhere you want", so i always press the button everytime she taps anywhere, which at first i thought was funny, but later on she keeps throwing small things on it thinking the electronic features gets activated, and i finally told her the truth where the button really is.

On the front is the dual-opening cockpit where you can fit 2 Micro-Action Figures on each seats.

Below the cockpit is the skid

At the top is an opening hatch with a gun which reveals the large open-space interior of the ship, the interior has 4 seats, 2 seats on each side where you can fit 4 MAFs inside.

next on the top is also a duct which also opens up to reveal the turbine fans.

On the lower side is a hidden compartmen where you can place and attach weapons.

At the back is the opening ramp. Another feature is the side cannons which turn side to side, you can also put your MAFs to sit and hold the cannons.

Although it is a very complicated build(i had back aches, buttaches and pain in the knees after building it) i enjoy it and was very satisfied with how it turns out

Plus it has a very close resemblance to Halo 4 Pelican pictured below.

The Spartans are the “not quite” figures of Sarah Palmer (Spartan Scout), Carlo Hoya (Spartan Operator) and Tedra Grant (Spartan Pathfinder) of Fireteam Majestic from the Halo 4 Spartan Ops multiplayer mode.

The Promethean Knight Battlewagon also has a motion-controlled light-up feature, and gets activated whenever you  move the figure around(it's true and not the practical joke i set-up for my daughter).

Custom Marvel Mega Bloks Captain America

This was done originally early last year

Captain America was created using a Series 1 Captain America head and shield, And a Series 3 Magneto body. The Star on his chest, Small wings on his head the the belt were sculpted using waterstop sealant.

Got the time to visit the mall and bought these halo goodies last night.

Orbital Banshee Blitz Set 97010

I like the idea that aerial vehicles have transparent flight stand making them look like it's flying or floating. The Covenant Orbital Banshee is more game accurate than the previous banshee added with the indigo effect on the bricks. The turret is surprisingly detailed with the stickers not to mention i was considering not to build it.

Set also comes with two Halo Mega Bloks figures: an orange EVA spartan and a silver Covenant-Elite pilot. On the manual, there was another substitute head for the silver elite pilot but i only got one, i was about to write mega about it but not tried to, i won't be needing it though.

UNSC Siege Bike Review 97116 ONI REAP-X

I don't know much about the Siege Bike, but i've read it was one of the series of  original designs made by mega bloks not seen on the game. The set includes the Siege Bike which is an easy build but a cool design for a bike, it's more like a "tank-bike" because instead of Bike wheels, it has tank threads.

The set also comes with 2 mini-figures, the Cobalt Spartan CIO and an Active Camo Grunt Storm.

UNSC Spade vs. Skirmisher Set 96981

The UNSC Spade is the vehicle seen and used in some levels in Halo reach and i was surprised that it looks really accurate from the game. I bought the set not only for the spartan grenadier(not Jorge) but also for the skirmisher. This is the only set where you can get a skirmisher.

Halo Mega Bloks Booster Frame Collect and Build

The Booster Frame is a rebuid from thress smaller sets,

UNSC C&C Console. This set includes a UNSC Marine in white medic armor with three smoke-camo weapons, a Railgun, an Assault Rifle and a DMR. I'm still wondering why he has a transluscent weapon instead of the regular ones.

UNSC Hangar Deck. It comes with a Cyan EVA Spartan with a Shotgun, a Socom and an SMG, also in smoke-camo.

The Forerunner Terminal. set comes with a Promethean Alpha Crawler. The terminal comes with a weapon rack and two weapons, a Suppressor and a Scattershot.

I've waited for these set to hit stores in the Philippines and immediately I decided to build the booster frame instead of building the three smaller structures. I was thinking if the Cyan EVA Spartan is Petty Officer Kelly, who was one of the spartans and was also wearing an EVA armor(though in a different color) that piloted one of the the booster frame in the Halo Legends Episode - The Package where Masterchief and four other spartans goes on a mission in space to retrieve a package from a covenant ship.

Kre-O Transformers Set 98812 - Battle for Energon

I recently got the Kre-O Transformers Set 98812 - Battle for Energon at a sale price in Toy Kingdom for 2000 Php.

For starters, the set is actually nice, considering you get two of the most important characters from the series, Optimus Prime and Megatron. This is my first Kre-O set so i can't say anything about how they differ from the other Kre-O versions of both optimus and megatron.

The set also comes up with 4 Kre-Ons: Optimus Prime, Megatron, Security Officer and Tank Driver, and some pieces/parts of the Dark Energon(you have to buy the other sets to complete it)

I first built both optimus and megatron's robot mode

I never really liked how they looked like in their robot form so i decided to rebuilt them in their vehicle mode.

 

The set also includes the Bank, which is cool, considering you're not only getting the robots/vehicles and kre-ons you also get a building structure, which is really cool for a diorama display.
