Display Risers for Bricks and Bloks Mini-Figures

I've been trying my best looking on how i can maximize the space of our mini-figures. i've been scouring our local stores and the net for more alternatives. I bought a lot of small acrylic displays for smaller figures, which fits lego and mega bloks mini-figures, but still they need a lot of space even if they are stackable.



One alternative i thought of was to make a lego mini-figure stair riser.



I used the lego digital designer to see how it will look like, problem is.. i need to acquire all those bricks and plates, which is really very expensive for a riser.

i ended up making my own display, using foam boards, made out of thin styrofoam coated with thin hard boards and hot glue :D




The result... more spaces for more figures :D

My display

Here's my small Mega Bloks Micro-Action Figure(MAF) Collection together with some of the customized figures i made.

Knock Off Ninjago Ninja by Bela

Saw some Knockoff Ninjago on my way home at a nearby store, they're selling it 45php each, that's around 1usd per figure. I wasn't really into them but bought it for the weapons. Here's what i got



Not bad for some KOs. Just noticed that 1 of the figure's arms and legs are from Kre-Ons

Wolverine and Deadpool

Got tired of work and decided to make a few custom that will join my WIP Uncanny X-Force Archangel.

Just simple paint mod on Wolverine, used Wolverine from the single packs, i was about to customize wolverine, the one that came out of the yellow egg with the motorcycle, thought i'll be making the same mistake before, using a rare figure to customize then look afterwards online, glad there's a collector from a local toy collecting club that's letting go of his extras.



and Uncanny X-Force Deadpool. Using Spiderman as base and Captain America's waist(for the utility belt) and some simple sculpts.

Dragons Universe

Some of the Dragons Universe Micro Action Figures i got from a recent trade with a fellow collector. I've never thought of collecting these figures before, the appeal never got into me, not until a collector included a few figures from a trade, that's where i started looking for these what got me looking for them is the bulky designs and the heavy weapons which is a lot different to their other MB sets like Halo and Marvel Bloks. Series 1 were already phased out from the store, good thing the same collector who traded me offered a few figures he's willing to let go, so i took the opportunity and grab these small but bulky figures. Though they are not complete, these sets will definitely stay on my display.

Marvel Bloks Iceman

Does anyone experienced this?




i happen to clean and arrange the figures on my shelf when suddenly i bumped it with my finger... it didn't even fall off into the stand where it was placed, it was just the arms that broke and fell off.

good thing i got extra parts i could swap it with.



it's kinda odd that it becomes brittle to break like that.

Now i accepted the fact that sooner or later.. it'll happen again

Deathstroke The Terminator

Just finished another one a while ago:



and a simple repaint using Tamiya Clear Orange

Paint Sealer

I used citadel on some old customs but i never like the way they look after using it... besides the price, they tend to go so glossy. so i bought an acrylic epoxy spray paint by RJ London Dull Laquer... the effects are amazing, applied it on a couple marvel handful of heroes i painted even if it's glossy becomes matte. good for skins  etc... i might use both dull on skins and citadel on glossy parts... it also dries in less than an hour.





i was hesitant at first to use it on an existing custom i made.. but when i applied it to my custom martian manhunter...



I can't believe the results... it was like it was photoshopped. The gloss was instantly removed and added a matte finish on the paint.



Now i'm spraying every customs i made like crazy. LOL

It's a lot more cheaper than citadel purity seal priced at 170php a can, which is around 4usd.

Mega Bloks Halo Warthog Resistance Set

Just sharing what i got today, a friend bought me the Warthog Resistance Set last december thru their local target's BOGO(Buy One Get One) sale in the US fr almost 27usd, and the Blue Team: Combat Unit thru ebay.



He was about to send me 2 boxes but since shipping is a killer, we decided to open both and put the set together in one box.



Completed building the first set and was really amazed at how detailed the warthog is than the first few versions release by Mega Bloks. Lots of extra Bloks afterwards.
